Here is my new blog about how I talk about my non-existent sex life. And all the jerks in between.

My New Musical

I am also in the process of writing another blog! Stay tuned!

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Hello, redhead.

Three musicians I like: Kate Nash, Ingrid Michaelson and Lady Gaga. (One of these things is not like the other...) According to my last.fm profile, I fancy Ingrid a bit more. According to my Lady Gaga costume collection......

It depends on who you ask....

So I figured out what to be for Halloween and what to do for my birthday, in case you guys were incredibly concerned. My birthday will be a little shit show in the back of Fiddlesticks. For Halloween I'll be Ramona Flowers. You go, "Who?"

I Go, "Yea...."

I understand this blog is a series of fragments of random thoughts, but.. Isn't that what blogs are for? Actually, whenever I start writing in here I am ready to be a Serious Blogger. But I can ever stay interested in writing a blog long enough. Anyway...

I'm a redhead now!!

You remember we were sittin' there by the water..

What a silly summer.

July and August flew by so fast I didn't have a chance to update. I spent most of that time in the salon, and had many adventures outside/after. Comedy &/or douchy dance clubs, trendy little restaurants, rehearsals, getting cussed out by interns, planning surprise parties, READING.....

Whooops. What started as a moment of weakness, ended one week and 2,444 pages later therefore demonstrating itself as an obsessive lapse. But to be fair, I loved every moment of it (sorta) and started reading again because of it.

Currently reading:

Which I love so far, so that is good.

I threw Lauren a surprise party, which was epic. And now I make plans for the next two big events of 2010: my birthday & halloween. Where do I have my party? What do I wear for Halloween?

I need answers.

Living the Dream.

A year ago I figured out what to do with my life...

And now I'm actually doing it? Working at an awesome top salon and doing theater by the PM? Thug life. This summer I plan on just living it up... My reality check at the beginning of 2010 has me really appreciating all this that I have.

And right now I'm going to sit and sip my raspberry green tea/apple juice combo before call and contemplate.

I see Lady Gaga in a week [score] and will be getting the new ipod later in the month [double score].

All I'm saying to you, July. Is... Don't let me down. <3

Watch it.

I'm not sure what this summer is up to yet. I guess it's only the 23rd, so it technically just started. So far - if you count all of June, it's been a lot of lazy-ing in my pool, visiting friends, frequenting bars and working.

I've made an extra special mission of having a drink of the summer:

Which you may think obvious, but I never had so many Margaritas until this summer. I want it to be 2011 and I have a sip and I go, "Ahhh tastes like Summer 2010." I mean it in the best way possible.

Usually it's music that reminds me of summer.. Sort of like..

This bitch reminds me of 2008. And how much she's blown up since then. This summer marks her being on the cover of Rolling Stone TWICE. Anddd I'm seeing her July 7 for ten times the price of my first Gaga ticket.

Getting the iPhone 4 this weekend, even though I technically don't need a new phone. But it's pretty and I wants it.

Ghost of Summer's Past

Don't Call Me Nostalgic

So I guess this blog is a summer tradition. So it's only fitting I listen to my on-going summer playlist. And although I don't really have a 'summer vacation', it doesn't mean I can't make this summer awesome, right?

After all, I have summer reading:

Something I want to buy this summer:

And a sequel to write:

So while I may not have too much free time on my schedule, friends living next door, or a vacation home in Maine I have things to look forward to, a great job, new friends and plenty of downtown mexican places for tacos and margaritas. That's what summer should be about, yea?

And as usual, I'll be writing it all here so I can remember it.

C'est ma vie, pas de 'blem.

Old habits die so very, very hard.

I had this whole post planned prior to opening the window. The thought was interrupted by my grandmother calling to inform me that she really wasn't trying to set me up with her exterminator's son... Phew?

Right now I'm at the end of a three week "vacation" between hair and hair. I spent the entirety of last week in the theater. I thought I was going to hate every minute, but it had me missing theater deeply and reminded me how much I want to get on the stage again. Except, I just accepted a full time position at Arrojo Studio, so I'm pretty certain I will not have the time to audition. I'm in this weird life-passion-love-triangle. I want to do both. It's never been a secret that I want to everything...

Teddy is trying to coax me into Assistant Directing this 15 minute musical. I can't help but smile about it.

I'm writing to warm up to write K-Hawk: Escape From Staten Island, which will come to some cheap ass theater near you in 2011. The idea of it is just too fun to pass up; plus I already mapped out a sequel to this sequel. Look - I'm just like JK Rowling only instead of wizards, I got guidos.

My life is a whirlwind right now. Sort of like that scene in Philharmagic where all the instruments are cyclone-ing around Mickey and he's trying to tame them all. Yea, that's my life. Except I feel more like Donald Duck than Mickey. [There's an obscure Disney World reference for you... If you got that we can be friends for life.] I guess there's so much that has happened in the past seven months I don't really have the time or patience to put it here.

I have this new habit that whenever I get really frustrated, I smile.
